Senders
Senders must use a supported Gmail or Outlook environment and install the correct SecureMail component.
Recipients
Recipients do not need to use Gmail or Outlook. They can access secure links through supported web browsers.
Mobile Recipients
Recipients can access secure links on mobile web browsers, even though sending from mobile Gmail apps is not supported.
Troubleshooting and Compatibility Checks
If SecureMail does not appear or does not function as expected, check the following first.
Confirm your email platform
For Gmail, use Chrome on a supported desktop OS. For Outlook, confirm that you are using Microsoft 365, Office 365, Exchange 2016, or Exchange 2019.
Check browser or client compatibility
SecureMail for Gmail requires the Chrome browser. Non-standard email clients and older Exchange versions may not be compatible with the Outlook add-in.
Restart the browser or Outlook
After installation, restart Chrome or Outlook if the SecureMail control does not appear immediately.
Contact support if needed
If your environment appears to be supported but SecureMail still does not work, contact 689Cloud support with your OS, browser/client version, and email platform details.
